Minister for Public Enterprise Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum with PRB workers.

More than $41,175 has been given out as bonus payment to all the staff of the Public Rental Board for 2014 and 2015.

While officiating the bonus payment, Minister for Public Enterprise Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says everyone in the Public Rental Board from the year 2014 with 32 staff engaged and 2015 with 13 staff will be receiving the bonus.

Sayed Khaiyum says the bonus payout for 2014 is $19, 617. 30 and 2015 is $21,558.03.

He says this is a testimony of team work that PRB have put in to be able to not just meet their targets but be able to go beyond that.

He adds senior officials should not look down on those workers that are under them.

Sayed-Khaiyum says there have been affordable housing units built many years ago, but those areas have become condemned as low cost housing areas.

He says this is because the value of those properties have not gone up and they want a combination of different types of properties in the same location.

Sayed-Khaiyum says this will allow the value to appreciate.

Meanwhile Public Rental Board Acting General Manager Patrick Veu says a total of 48 established and unestablished workers from the central, northern and the western division will receive this bonus.

Veu says they are still working on the submissions for the 2016 bonus payout.
