The Biosecurity Authority of Fiji is calling on all Fijians, stakeholders and importers to protect our borders, Agriculture and export sector.
Importers are now required to comply with import requirements in order to prevent entry of any pests and diseases which may have a devastating impact on the livelihoods of Fijians.
The Authority said the proactive measure will ensure a sustainable, pest free food chain export pathway.
They added that this will also safeguard bananas and pineapples which are common fruits to see on most Fijian household tables.
