The prosecution counsel in the case of Leader of Jezreel Lion of Judah Jone Cokanauto told Suva High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo that they will not rely on the DNA test given by the defence counsel.
The defence counsel then told the court that if the prosecution did not rely on the DNA test, then they are trying to challenge the information of Registry by saying that Cokanauto is the father of one of the complainants child.
The case is adjourned till 25th April for pre trial conference.
Cokanauto is charged with multiple counts of rape and indecent assault that allegedly occurred between 2005 and 2012.
He has pleaded not guilty to his charges.
His bail has been extended.
Meanwhile Cokanauto’s trial date has been set from 12th to 23rd June next year.
