The proposed Chairman of the Proposed OneFiji Party, Filimoni Vosarogo is hopeful that they will be able to fulfil the requirements of the Political Parties Decree and still get registered by Monday.
The Registrar of Political Parties, Mohammed Saneem today rejected the application of the proposed One Fiji Party for failing to meet the minimum requirements of the Political Parties Decree.
In a press conference today, Vosarogo confirmed that they have been told their application lacks the required number of member signatures.
He said they are now seeking clarification from the Registrar of Political Parties on those signatures that have been declared invalid.
Vosarogo said if they are unable to meet the requirement then they will have to wait for 2018.
Section 6 (3) (1) of the Political Parties Decree states an application for registration shall be accompanied by a schedule setting out the names, addresses, signatures and voter identification card numbers of at least 5,000 members of the proposed political party from all the four Divisions with a minimum number of members from each Division.
