The days of relying on underground water and rainwater are over for more than 200 people of Malake Island in Ra, as for the first time ever they have pipe water.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Malake Water project today, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said no longer will the people of Malake go through the long and dry spells of water shortages on the island.
The $650,000 project will benefit the 135 households on Malake.
