Probe begins after discovery dead baby in Savusavu

Investigations continue into the discovery of the body of a baby that was found by council workers in Savusavu when they were collecting rubbish yesterday morning.

Anyone with information that could help police locate the mother or knows anything about the tragic incident is to call Crimestoppers on 919.

While the investigation is ongoing, police are urging those who are posting and sharing pictures of the child on social media to refrain from doing so.

Police say that this is a sad and tragic case and to have the photo of the body of the baby circulated is really poor judgement and they hope people will not share the photo on social media.
