Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya says the private sector needs to come forward and contribute by improving their standards and the conduct of business.
Speaking at the Lautoka Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting, Koya says this is where Chambers and Industry Associations can play an important role.
Koya says the Fijian government is providing an enabling environment, in terms of investment incentives, such as lowest corporate taxes, tax free regions, duty free imports of machineries and investment input.
He adds Chambers need to become agencies that are self‑regulating, thus pushing their members towards maintaining the highest level of standards in terms of service delivery, quality of products and business ethics.
