Prince Harry has today personally thanked the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama for taking the lead in the global fight against climate change as President of COP23.
Bainimarama had a meeting with Prince Harry during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London where he has pledged to put the need for decisive climate action at the centre of the discussions.
During the meeting with Prince Harry, the Prime Minister spoke on the recent tropical cyclones, Josie and Keni, that struck Fiji this month, and stressed the importance of decisive global action in combating the effects of climate change.
Hosted by the United Kingdom, Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting will see leaders from member countries gather to reaffirm the Commonwealth's common values, address shared challenges faced by the countries of the Commonwealth, including the threat posed by climate change, and work towards securing a better future for all Commonwealth citizens, particularly young people.
