The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will begin their official duties today after arriving in Sydney Australia yesterday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived in Sydney to begin an official visit to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
Upon arrival at Sydney Airport Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were met by a large media and security presence.
They were driven to Admiralty House, the Sydney Harbour residence to meet with Governor‑General Peter Cosgrove ‑ who is the Queen's representative in Australia.
In the coming days, Prince Harry and Meghan the Duchess of Sussex will visit attractions including the Sydney Opera House, Taronga Zoo and Bondi Beach. They will also take day trips to Melbourne, drought‑stricken NSW town Dubbo, and Queensland's Fraser Island.
Prince Harry will launch the fourth Invictus Games in Sydney on Friday, and attend the opening and closing ceremonies.
The couple follow in the footsteps of Prince Harry's parents ‑ Charles and Diana ‑ whose first royal tour was to Australia and New Zealand.
It was also announced by Kensington Palace that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, are expecting their first child in spring 2019.
The Royal couple will tour Fiji from 25th‑27th October.
