President-elect, Retired Major General Jioji Konrote is expected to be sworn in as President of the Republic of Fiji by Chief Justice Anthony Gates next month.
Konrote’s swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place after November 12th.
Outgoing President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau is expected to complete his term in office by November 12th.
Meanwhile Acting Commander, Commodore Viliame Naupoto has decided to stay with the RFMF after discussions with Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama.
Naupoto was next in line to go into parliament after Konrote’s resignation from the Fiji First.
With Naupoto deciding not to take the parliamentary seat, Matai Akauola is the next person in the Fiji First list to take up the seat.
A formal announcement is expected soon.
