“As leaders in the Pacific region, we need to have a clear vision and strong skills to address complex challenges of globalization, interdependence, social issues like HIV-AIDS and Non-Communicable Diseases”.
This was the comment made by President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau while addressing the participants of this year’s Emerging Pacific Leaders Dialogue last night at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
The President said Pacific Leaders also need to be mindful of the importance of preserving their culture and the values that bind people and communities.
Nailatikau added that the Emerging Pacific Leaders Dialogue 2014 is aimed to inspire and uplift outstanding Pacific Islanders like the participants so they may contribute to the leadership and governance in the region.
A total of twelve participants including a representative from Fiji will be touring the country over the next four days.
