President Jioji Konrote has officially opened the new three-storey complex ‘Employers Hub’ that will now be home for the two secretariats the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation and the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association at Gorrie Street in Suva.
Speaking at the opening, Konrote says he believes it is prudent to commend both the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation and the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association for the faith they have shown in the Fijian economy by investing close to $2.4 million in this project.
Konrote says the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation has grown to be the single largest employer body in Fiji with a membership in excess 500 employers and a total workforce of 80,000 workers.
He says its membership ranges from the single consultant and micro-enterprises to the largest manufacturing plants, universities and Fiji’s national airline.
Chairman of the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association Dixon Seeto says with this new purpose built facility, the two associations will be better equipped to service its members and the economy in the future.
