God has never failed us, the people of Fiji who prayed fervently for the release of the 45 soldiers who were kept in captivity in the hands of the Al-Nusra Front in Syria, two weeks ago.
That was echoed by Taitusi Savutia who spoke on behalf of the 45 families at the Thanksgiving service yesterday where about 3,000 people attended.
Savutia acknowledged the leaders of the different denominations and religious bodies who prayed in their own way, and today our prayers are answered.
He also said the tears of sorrow have turned into joy.
Meanwhile in his address, the President of Fiji, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said we rejoice as a nation that God enveloped our soldiers in His love to protect them and gave them strength during their ordeal.
He believed that God was also with the militants; God shined his light into their hearts and turned their anger into compassion.
Ratu Epeli said now they are free and back safely with their comrades on duty with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force at the Golan Heights.
Present yesterday were the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassadors and High Commissioners, Religious Groups and members of the Judiciary.
