Post-mortem of 16yr-old drowning victim in Labasa conducted

Police have confirmed that the post-mortem of the 16-year-old student who drowned in a river in Labasa has been conducted.

Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the post-mortem was conducted yesterday but they are not able to release the result as the investigation is ongoing.

Police say the body of the boy was retrieved from Nagata River in Labasa over the weekend.

The boy went for a swim with his cousins when the incident happened.

The drowning death toll stands at 12 compared to 21 for the same period last year.
