Police yet to confirm on post mortem of drowning victims

Police are yet to confirm when the post mortem will be conducted on the two boys who drowned in Bilalevu River in Sigatoka over the weekend.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says that it is too early to confirm when the post mortem will be conducted as the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, 34-year-old father Robin Chand says that he saw how his 12-year-old son, Rahul tried to save his nine-year-old friend Vinal Sharma.

Chand says both boys knew how to swim.

Nine-year-old Vinal Sharma’s father, Varun Sharma says that both were good friends and they always accompanied each other everywhere.

Rahul Chand and Vinal Sharma went for a swim when they followed Chand’s father to tie his horse a few metres from their home on Saturday afternoon.

The two were found by Warwick Hotel Divers and a search party yesterday morning.
