Police are waiting for the Navua River to clear so that they can pull out the car which was found in the river near the old Navua Hospital.
Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has sought the advice of the Navy Commander, Commander John Fox on the best way to salvage the car.
They will resume operations tomorrow.
Qiliho has stressed to his officers that he wants to retrieve the vehicle so that investigators are able to examine it and find answers to what happened and bring some closure to the victim’s family.
Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Luke Navela said the police divers tried their best yesterday but due to heavy rain, the river was not clear.
Some fishermen found the car underwater on Friday.
