The Police investigating officer handling Vilikesa Soko’s case will be meeting with the Director of Public Prosecutions today to discuss some outstanding issues.
Soko who was allegedly involved in the robbery at the City Forex Foreign Exchange in Nadi in August, died in police custody.
Police were directed to look into some outstanding issues when the file was returned for further investigation.
Police Commissioner, Ben Groenewald confirmed that one outstanding issue is the release of Soko’s medical report from Lautoka Hospital.
He said this is being done with the assistance of the Solicitor General’s office.
DPP, Christopher Pryde had confirmed earlier that there were a number of issues which remain outstanding.
He had also said that in matters as serious as the death of a person in police custody, it is important that all issues are looked at very carefully before a final decision on any charges is made.
