Police to come down hard on drunk drivers

The Fiji Police will be coming down hard on drivers that drink and drive during this festive season.

Fijivillage raised this issue with police that during this period there tends to be a lot of drivers that are under the influence of liquor.

Fiji Police Director Traffic Mahesh Mishra said the message to their traffic officers is clear and that is to take any driver to task that is caught driving under the influence of liquor.

Mishra said their officers will also be focusing on other issues they face during this period.

He is also calling on members of the public to report any such incidents they see to police.
