There has been a substantial increase in the number of Suicide and Attempted Suicide Cases reports received around the country.
Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Henry Brown said 18 Suicide cases have been reported for this year so far compared to 24 for the same period last year.
Brown said most of the suicide cases are from domestic disputes between couples, relationship problems and the restriction imposed on teenagers which limits their wants.
Brown said 27 attempted suicide cases have been reported at the various police Stations so far for this year compared to 21 reports received during the same period last year.
He said majority of the victims of attempted or suicide cases are those in the ages between 14‑40 years.
