Police have raised concerns over the three fire cases that were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The first incident occurred at Verata, Wailevu, when a 3 bedroom wooden house belonging to a police officer was destroyed in a fire at around 2pm yesterday.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

A 56-year-old farmer of Naidi Village, Savusavu, also lost his home in a fire yesterday afternoon.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and the cost of damage is estimated to be $100,000.

In the third incident, a two bedroom house belonging to a 52-year-old was destroyed in a fire last night.

The incident occurred at the Waiyanitu Settlement, Nakavu, Navua.

The fire is believed to have started from a lit mosquito coil that was placed on a newspaper near the bed.
