Preparations are well underway for the Fiji Police Force for the September 17th general elections.
Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu said around 2,000 officers will be working at various polling venues on Election Day.
Tudravu said all their elections training will be completed by the end of next month.
He said new officers who have just graduated will not be part of the election operations but will be on standby at different police stations.
Tudravu confirms that they will be sitting with the Elections Office and the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to talk about some common offences that could arise on polling day which includes impersonation and misrepresentation.
Tudravu added that the Fiji Military Forces, Fiji Correction Services and the National Fire Authority will also be on standby on September 17th.
