Police have confirmed they are investigating a report filed by a bus driver where a passenger had allegedly spat on his face when he had refused to take cash as bus fare.
Police have confirmed the report was lodged at the Suva Market Police Post yesterday.
The identity of the passenger is not known at this point.
Drivers are banned from accepting cash from passengers and if found they will be fined.
In January this year the Land Transport Authority had fined a bus driver $1,000 because he allegedly accepted cash from a young boy and did not issue a receipt.
