Police have questioned and released two mothers in relation to the deaths of a six month old baby and a two year old boy.
Police Spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed they are investigating two cases of parental negligence.
A six-month-old baby who was allegedly given herbal medicine on Monday has lost her life.
Sokomuri said the baby girl started to pass out red and pink urine yesterday morning after which she was taken to the Lautoka hospital.
She was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Meanwhile, a two-year-old boy drowned in Gunu Village in Yasawa.
Police said the boy left to play at their neighbour’s house while the mother was breast feeding her younger baby.
Police said the two year old boy’s uncle came running to inform the mother that her son’s body was found floating in the sea.
