Police say investigations are still ongoing to establish whether the case of a 12-year-old student who was electrocuted on the 1st of this month is a case of negligence.
Police had earlier said that the student was playing with water with other kids when he accidently tripped on an electric steel pole which was believed to be live.
The incident happened in the compound of one of the staff quarters at Lelean Memorial School and the student was the child of one of the teachers at the school.
Police say attempts to revive the student were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nausori Health Centre.
