Police are investigating another case of alleged negligence after the death of a 4-year-old boy.
The Divisional Crime Officer North has directed investigators to look at the issue of negligence following the death of the 4-year-old boy at an estate in Tukavesi.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when the deceased was found floating in a river about 100 meters away from his home.
The victim was last seen playing with another child close to where his grandfather was carrying out some construction work on their home.
He was later discovered floating in a nearby river.
Investigations are also underway in relation to two cases where an eleven month old baby died in Labasa last week and a 1 year 11 month old toddler was found dead in the Rewa River last Saturday.
The 11 month old baby boy drowned in a bucket of water in Labasa last Wednesday.
The baby was with the mother at home when the incident happened and the baby’s body was discovered by the father.
The father attempted to revive his son but this proved futile.
Investigations continue following the discovery of the body of the one year eleven month old boy in the Rewa River on Saturday.
The toddler was missing from his home since Friday afternoon.
Police say the boy was playing with his friends at his home in Baulevu.
When the search was conducted, the body was discovered in the Rewa River.
The toddler's house is located near the river.
