Police are now investigating a report where a Police Highway Patrol vehicle was seen driving recklessly from Lami Town to Suva at about 8.30 yesterday morning.
Motorists have confirmed to Fijivillage that they witnessed the vehicle registration GP384 speeding into Lami Town and then overtaking a number of vehicles on its way to Suva.
The police vehicle had emergency lights on and was driving over 50 kilometres per hour when it came into Lami Town.
It overtook vehicles, crossing over the double line, going into oncoming traffic.
The vehicle also almost caused accidents in Lami and Wailada as it continued to overtake in the no overtake areas going into oncoming traffic.
We have contacted Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro and she confirms that there was no emergency.
She says they are now looking into the matter.
