Turkish authorities have arrested a suspect they believe was planning to attack a World War I commemoration at Gallipoli attended by hundreds of Australians and New Zealanders.
Authorities say the arrested person who is a Syrian national is believed to be an Islamic State member.
Between 1200 and 1500 people, including many Kiwis, are expected at this year's services remembering those from Australia and New Zealand lost in World War I.
Police did not specify which day the detained suspect may have been planning to carry out the alleged attack.
The Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs and the New Zealand Defence Force say they were aware of the reports, but it was a matter for the Turkish authorities.
