Police are still looking for eight men who were involved in a carjacking case in Lautoka at about 7pm last Thursday.
Police say a team has been set up to investigate and identify the people who were caught on camera while stealing a vehicle.
Police received a report after which a search was conducted and the vehicle was found abandoned on the same night.
Video footage of this incident is being circulated on Facebook showing eight people getting into a vehicle after the driver parked at the side of the road to go to the shop.
The eight men got into the vehicle while the man’s wife and two children were still in the four wheel drive.
The driver is seen running back to the car and jumping through the window. He is repeatedly punched by the men in the car while his wife managed to get out of the vehicle.
Their two children were then thrown out of the vehicle while the men were driving off.
Anyone with information in relation to the identification of the eight men can call Crime Stoppers on 919.
It was also sad to see that about 5 bystanders did not try to help the family at all while they were going through this ordeal.
Fijivillage advises people to lock their car doors and put up their windows if they are stopping anywhere. You also advised not to leave your car key in the car while you are stopping over to get something.
