Police have classified the death of a man who was arrested by a citizen as murder.
They have confirmed that there is a suspect in the case and investigations are underway.
Police had earlier stated that the 32 year old man of Nabua who was taken in for a case of damaging property but later passed away at the Valelevu Health Centre was not assaulted nor did he have any injuries.
The victim was arrested by a citizen after allegedly damaging his vehicle which was parked along Narere Stage 1 on the 1st of this month.
They say the victim was allegedly heavily intoxicated at the time of the arrest and was brought to the Nasinu Police Station.
Police said after a while the victim complained of being ill where he was rushed to the Makoi Health Centre for treatment.
He was then transferred to the Valelevu Health Centre where he passed away on the 1st of this month.
