Police brass to look into officers whereabouts during theft

The Deputy Divisional Police Commander Eastern, Superintendent Vilisi Misiamete said she wants to find out the whereabouts of the Police officer based at the Koronivia Police Post when a theft took place at a shop which is just 50 meters from the Police Post.

Misiamete said sometimes the officer based at the Police Posts goes on patrols and no one is left at the Post.

However, Misiamete said she will have to look at the officers diary to establish where he was when the theft was taking place.

The owner of Ram Pati Investment Limited, Ajay Prasad raised serious concerns as he says the Police Officer was based just opposite his shop and was unaware of the theft.

He said the thieves took off with $12,000 worth of items and cash.

He said the theft took place at around 3am and the thieves also took the CCTV camera with them.
