Police are appealing for information to locate a man in his 40s who allegedly sexually harassed a Year 1 student at the Suva City Library.
Serious concerns are now being raised on the safety of the children after the incident at the library.
There are no security cameras at the library and Police are now looking at ways to identify the man.
Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they need a good description of the man.
Suva City Council CEO Bijay Chand could not be reached for comments.
The alleged incident occurred on Friday afternoon.
The girl had gone to the library with her elder sister to return some books.
The man approached the girl and allegedly sexually harassed her while she was waiting at the Kid’s Corner.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the young girl threw the books at the man which landed on his face.
The girl told her sister about the alleged incident and the matter was then reported to Police.
