The Police Dog Unit helping to clear the streets this morning on Waimanu Road

The Police Dog Unit assisted in the Police operations this morning around Suva to monitor people who were drunk and checking drinking spots.

Police spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said this is in a bid to curb the incidence of brawls in Suva and other criminal activities.

Some drunk people were still seen along Waimanu Road in the last hour.

Yesterday police took some people for questioning at the Totogo Police station who were later released.

Meanwhile a meeting was held on Thursday between Police officials and members of the Fiji Island Security Employer Association at the Central Police Station.

ACP Rusiate Tudravu who chaired the meeting asked members to assist Police in the maintenance of law and order through information and the sharing of resources.
