The Police Cyber Crime Unit will now look into a post on facebook showing children allegedly being made to drink alcohol.
Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Luke Navela said the issue has been brought to his attention and he has directed the Cyber Crime Unit to try and locate the adults who can be seen allegedly giving beer to a child.
Anyone with information that could help the team identify those seen in the photos can call Crime Stoppers on 919.
ACP Navela said the photos are disturbing as it clearly shows children being mistreated and he questions the reasons behind doing such things.
He stressed that any posts on social media that show children being mistreated will be looked into and those found doing so will be investigated.
