“We are formulating a plan to look at a solution to provide more reliability to the traffic lights system.”
This is the comment made by the Fiji Roads Authority Maintenance Works Manager Dale Nicholls.
Nicholls said most of the installations of the traffic lights in the Central Suva area have passed the used by date and currently there are no components available for replacement.
He said while they are waiting on the new components to be manufactured, they will continue to repair traffic lights when required.
Nicholls added that it is likely to take two to three years to resolve the traffic lights issues before they are fully confident that they have a reliable system.
