The photo supplied by the five parties which they allege shows a Kia vehicle with ballot papers is misleading information.
The Chairman of the Electoral Commission Chen Bunn Young has clarified that these are not ballot papers as claimed by SODELPA, the Fiji Labour Party, the National Federation Party, the People’s Democratic Party and One Fiji.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has also questioned the motive of the person on why such a photo is being released now and not on the day it was taken.
Chen Bunn Young also stressed that the integrity of none of the ballot boxes were affected.
Young also explaind that some of the presiding officers and the police officers who were not registered at the polling station actually voted at the station.
He said there is a logical explanation for this and this does not mean that the votes were rigged as claimed by the five parties.
The Chairman of the Electoral Commission said there were some files and envelopes in some ballot boxes but these items were not ballot papers and it did not affect the integrity of the ballot boxes.
