People turned up in numbers with their pets to the SPCA Office in Walu-Bay this morning to take advantage of the free vet services that are being provided by a team of veterinary specialists from the US Navy.
This is part of the 2015 Pacific Partnership mission.
Four vets and nine para-vets are part of the specialist team.
SPCA General Manager, Priscilla Reddy says 28 surgeries were done yesterday.
She says this was overwhelming considering that they only have a capacity of doing four surgeries in day.
Fijivillage also spoke to Waidrodro Lal who came with her three dogs Tippy, Lucky, Chuku and her three cats Sweety, Fairy and Ginger.
Lal is urging Pet Owners to take advantage of this initiative.
The specialist team will also be conducting clinics tomorrow.
