Permanent Secretary for Local Government Joshua Wycliffe says that people will still be able to access the Suva Botanical Gardens even if the vacant lot is approved to be given to the Indian High Commission.
Wycliffe says the two will be different sub-divisions and one does not have bearing on the other.
He says people will be free to access the Gardens as they are doing now.

He says the 99 year land lease was properly applied for.
Wycliffe says the Suva City Council noted that the development would allow for an opportunity for new trade markets to be introduced through this relationship.
