As thousands celebrate Diwali today, the children of the Dilkusha Home were not left out of the festivities.
Superintendent of the Home, Sister Ignes Leba says many people took time out to come to the home spread the happiness of Diwali in the form of sweets and food for the children.
Sister Ignes says the children stood and watched from their verandah the houses that were decorated with colourful lights and people with their bright attires and were also greeted with the festivities as people came around to spread the spirit of Diwali.
She says the message of Diwali is similar to that of the festivals in Christianity which is to spread the light and love for one and all.
Sister Ignes says the kids are always delighted to be part of the celebrations and the Home has always welcomed people regardless of what faith they belong to.
