With Diwali just two days away, people are urged to strictly adhere to the times given for the use of fireworks.
The Director for the Mineral Resources Department, Malakai Finau said people will be allowed to use fireworks on Diwali night till 12am.
Finau said people can use firecrackers before and after Diwali from 5pm till 10pm and those caught breaching the time period can face fines of up to $400.
He said adult supervision is requested from parents and guardians while children are using fireworks.
