People should not vote for a party just because they may be related to a candidate but people should vote for a party because of what they can do for them.
These were the words of the Prime Minister and Leader of the FijiFirst Voreqe Bainimarama while speaking at the FijiFirst Family Fun Day in Valelevu.
Bainimarama also highlighted that after commissioning an entire village in Vunidogoloa in Cakaudrove, people continued to hear lies about land and itaukei rights being taken away and they voted for a relative.
Bainimarama has stressed that people listen to all the political parties and to vote decisively adding that people know what FijiFirst has done and there is certainty and FijiFirst has brought about security that has enabled Fiji to progress.
He also touched on SODELPA talking about itaukei land issues and reiterated that the 2013 constitution protects itaukei land.
Bainimarama says that SODLEPA is looking to bring back the GCC and he has questioned what is the GCC going to do for us?
Bainimarama has also clarified that he had removed the Great Council of Chiefs because members of the then GCC were meddling in matters of politics and not in matters of the Vanua as they were appointed to do so.
He adds he has heard that one of the priorities for SODLEPA if they form the next government is to bring back the GCC adding that bringing back the GCC will bring about a lot of confusion.
He has also stated that the FijiFirst government has brought about more progress and development to the lives of the itaukei in the past 9 years than the GCC has during its existence.
