As Union Jacks and Fiji Flags drape the streets of Suva, people are in high spirits as they anticipate the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle later this afternoon.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Suva Market Vendor Shobna Verma who is a mother of 2 says that it will be an experience of a lifetime just to get to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle today in Suva.
Fijivillage also spoke to people around Suva Market about the royal visit.
The Suva‑Nausori corridor as well as many parts of Suva City have been decked out with welcoming billboards and posters of the royal couple ahead of their arrival this afternoon.
People will also have the chance to get a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they travel from Nausori Airport along the main Kings Highway and Waimanu Road to Borron House today before attending a traditional welcome ceremony at Albert Park.
They are scheduled to arrive at Nausori Airport at 4.30pm this afternoon so people can wait along the main Kings Highway from 4.30pm to 5pm to catch a glimpse of the couple.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be accorded a Guard of Honor before being escorted to Borron House at 5.10pm to meet President Jioji Konrote.
After this, they will then travel along Edinburgh Drive from Borron House through the Heart of Suva City to attend the traditional welcome ceremony at Albert Park from 6pm‑6.45pm.
People will able to line the streets of Suva City as the Royal Couple make their way through Rodwell Road, Scott Street and Victoria Parade and people are also invited to attend the program today at Albert Park but they must be seated by 4pm.
After the traditional welcome ceremony there will be a royal wave from the GPH balcony later this evening.
