Families, friends and loved ones today flocked to popular town and picnic spots around the country to enjoy the New Year’s public holiday.
Despite the occasional overcast weather currently being experienced, this did not deter the hundreds of people who today celebrated with loved ones in welcoming a new year.
With every New Year there are also many new beginnings, hopes, dreams and aspirations and Fijivillage took to popular town and picnic spots today to ask people their new year’s resolutions.
For a family all the way from Kiribati it was a day to celebrate the gift of life and family with a lunch and little picnic at Suva Point.
Police also had 2 booths set up along Nasese Seawall to monitor the hundreds of people who spent the day swimming at the popular picnic spot in light of the current weather situation.
