Whether you were counting down the days or could not care less, there is no avoiding Valentine’s Day today.

Some people even go to great lengths to pull out all the stops to shower their loved ones with gifts, chocolates and romantic gestures.

Atelaite Vuki who is a florist at the Suva market says that she didn’t think much of Valentine’s day till earlier this week as every day she was selling 50-70 bouquet’s of orchids.

Tadra Flowers outlets confirmed their stores have begun delivery since 4 this morning as they have also taken traffic into account and want to help make it a special day for their customers.

Tadra Flowers director Araylea Waters says that Valentine’s Day is not only for lovers, but a day to show a family member, friend or those in your life how much you love and appreciate them.

Waters says she even received order for single red roses from a Director of a company who wanted to show his employees how much he appreciates them.

Country Florist in Lautoka also says their roses were sold out at 10 last night adding that other common gifts that have been selling fast for valentine’s day include teddy bears and heart cushions.

Fijivillage also caught up with some people in the city on what the day means to them, with most just looking forward to spending quality time with their loved ones.
