Fiji Born former Australian Idol contestant Paulini Curuenavuli has avoided jail and instead been handed a six‑month suspended sentence for bribing a NSW government employee to obtain an unrestricted driver's licence.
The 35‑year‑old, who recently played the lead role in The Bodyguard musical, pleaded guilty in September to paying a Roads and Maritime Services official $850 in exchange for the fake licence.
A magistrate at Mount Druitt Local Court today placed Curuenavuli on a good behaviour bond instead of sending her to jail.
The singer had been ordered to complete a traffic offender program and drive 120 hours under supervision to meet the requirements of her learner's licence before she was sentenced.
