The 75-year-old leader and pastor of Back to Eden Church Ministry Iowane Vakadranu says he had sex with the two state witnesses to teach them about adultery.
While giving evidence during cross-examination in the Suva High Court today, Vakadranu said that the purpose was for them to tell others that adultery is not allowed.
The pastor said that only he is allowed to do it and the bible has permitted only him to do it.
Vakadranu also agreed in court today that after having sex, he had told the two state witnesses not to tell anyone about this.
State prosecutor Siteri Navia put to Vakadranu today that he made false representation to the state witnesses in Labasa and Tailevu to just have sex with them.
Vakadranu denied this.
Navia also asked if he told them if his actions were God’s calling.
Vakadranu replied by saying yes.
Navia then asked Vakadranu if he sent the two state witnesses to the world to spread the gospel after preparing them for three years.
Vakadranu said he wants them to qualify first and they are yet to achieve that.
Meanwhile, during re-examination by the defence, Vakadranu also said that education of this world will come to an end but spiritual education is everlasting.
Vakadranu is charged with 4 counts of rape.
The alleged incidents occurred between 1st October, 2012 to 31st August, 2014 in Labasa and Tailevu.
High Court Judge Justice Vincent Perera will sum up the case at 2.30pm this Friday.
