Parts of Suva are without power supply due to a fault on FEA’s 33,000 volts underground cable that supplies power from the Vatuwaqa Substation to the Suva Substation.
FEA said this fault will affect power supply to the Suva Business District and some suburbs.
The Authority said it has no other option but to resort to load shedding.
The FEA teams have been working on this fault since 2 o’clock this morning.
FEA said it is difficult to estimate the fault location and repair times at this stage.
It is also seeking the assistance and support of its major customers including hotels and corporate customers to operate their stand‑by generator sets independently to cater for their power requirements.
Customers may experience intermittent power supply interruptions.
