The Participative Democracy and Accountability Action project funded at $999,937.58 has been successfully launched last night.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Constitutional Forum, Sara Bulutani says that the project’s overall objective is to strengthen democratic governance in Fiji through participation of civil society and marginalised groups in local and national policy making.
Bulutani says that it will also focus on engaging the communities and their leaders, in particular women and youth.
He adds that the project relates directly to the European Union Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights with the global objective of consolidating democracy in Fiji.
The three year project is funded by the European Union and will be monitored by the CCF along with it’s implementing partners, the Pacific Centre for Peace-building, Dialogue Fiji and Transcend Oceania and Conciliation Resources.
