The inaugural Pacific Island Resort Show is testimony that fashion can also bring cultures together.

This was the comment made by Managing Director Ellen Whippy Knight at last night’s Fiji Fashion Week, Pacific Island Resort Show that showcased twenty designers and brought together 13 Pacific Island Nations.

She says that Fiji Fashion Weeks 10 years of fashion has brought many International Designers to our shores, emerging and established designers alongside our own Fijian designers.

Representing Guam, Sandrine Cruz Stewart is an established designer and last night showcased her collection.

She says that she developed her style of clothing through life experiences and gathering an understanding of quality when she grew up in Europe and the Caribbean.

The Pacific Island Resort Show last night also showcased designs from New Zealand, Solomon Islands, PNG Cook Islands, Fiji, Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, New Caledonia and Tahiti.

Emerging designer Adi Koila Ganilau opened Fiji Fashion Week.

Adi Koila’s line has made a name for itself locally as Haus of Koila, a Pacific Island Brand which promote's Authentic Indigenous Fijian Prints.

Knight has also announced that next year’s Pacific Island Resort Show will be hosted in Australia.

Fiji Fashion Week 10th year anniversary will continue tonight with the Trend Setters Show at the Vodafone Arena.
