PM told 4,000 leases renewed but no farming taking place

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said he has discovered in the last few days that about 4,000 leases have been renewed recently but no farming is taking place.

Bainimarama made this comment while speaking to the residents of Nawaicoba, Nadi, yesterday afternoon.

He told the people that they should go to the Commissioner Western if they are facing any problems.

The residents told Bainimarama that there are 72 leases in their area which will expire in 2017 and they are thankful that the Committee for Better Utilization of Land is working hard to see that the leases will be renewed.
