The Prime Minister has questioned the opposition on when they will turn their attention away from themselves and start concentrating on the needs of the ordinary people.
While opening the Sigatoka Hospital extension yesterday, Voreqe Bainimarama said all that has been heard from the opposition since the start of the year is how much money they are getting for themselves.
The Prime Minister is asking the opposition to rise above petty politics and personalizing issues when parliament resumes next month.
He said the opposition should help the government address the great issues of our time which are to improve the economy, attract investment and create jobs.
Bainimarama said the opposition should make themselves a New Year’s resolution.
He said instead of being obsessed with themselves and fighting all the old battles that the Fijian people rejected at the last election, the opposition should start thinking about the best way to deliver and to serve.
National Federation Party Leader, Doctor Biman Prasad said they will continue to raise concerns where they see that it is necessary to do so.
Doctor Prasad said while the Prime Minister is entitled to make his comments, the opposition will not step back from what it is doing.
We will have more later today.
